Action Over Time

Drastic Landscapes
Photo

In the mode of classic landscapes, with the addition of action and a bit of time. Lens based.
This series commenced by taking photos out of the windows of jets at takeoff and landing. The lines of perspective change rapidly
at this high contrast of speed.
There must be compound action demonstrated in these photos
for them to be properly stimulating.

Spatial Distortion
Photo

Distortion of space. More slowly, similar math.
Scanner Photos. These are depictions of how a machine sees.
Nonlens, cameraless, photography.

The new equipment interprets the classic subject matter of fruit groupings, figure studies, portraiture, and flower arrangements.

The technique involves planning a shot, composing the background elements, preparing the model, then hand holding a large flatbed scanner. “Action!”
The subject is moved, the artist moves, sometimes the background moves. Attempting to coordinate the movements toward harmonic rhythm.

Paintings in Landscape
Photos of paintings

In these Naturally Occurring Paintings ™, a viewer can find accurate mathematics of crash. Time taken toward the limit of zero.  A high variation of speed.

A few of the images were made by the artist, but most are collected. These are usually painted by nonaware anonymous artists.

These images are of the paint of cars. The finished artworks are photographs of these paintings, which are then printed on canvas and stretched on bars like a painting, with then a transparent painting of gel medium for texture, making another painting on top.

Graphs of the Qualitative
Painting

Analog
A selection of some of the shapes of actions.
Numerous shapely actions are available to model
But only a finite number of shapes at any one time, still, pretty vast.
Graph curves combine and recombine in patterns that fall together easily and sometimes groupings difficult.
Some chemical reactions are impossible, the others are inevitable.

Paintings of Speed
Painting

These are paintings made from memory, by analyzing experiences seeking the extremes.

A pursuit of the shape of flow. Gaining the knowledge of the actual mathematics by physical experience.

Early research includes roller coasters, motorcycles, skydiving, race cars, and cartoon head injuries.
