Places I have lived at equal scale, plus other cities

I have seen the detail of the variety of the United States

These are images of places I have lived, including the open country where I grew up.

Trying to understand the scale of things, I always had a map on the wall. Unfortunately they were always different scale. I wanted to see how my bicycle exploration route lengths compared. Also the distance of a comfortable walk.

To satisfy my own curiosity, I made these; they are all equal scales, 10:1, 20:1, or 30:1. You can look at them too. The red spots are dwellings. I didn’t make the European cities where I have lived, yet.

You can see how the size of Wicker park, Chicago compares to The Mission, San Francisco, or East Village, NY.
