Artist Brian Miller, from Manhattan, is
showing a new type of photo of the figurative
subject. They will be exhibited in a group
show at Carmen de la Guerra Galeria de Arte
in Madrid. These “Spatial Distortion Pictures”
use a technique capturing distortions of
space and time in photographs of human subjects.
The opening reception is June 28. The show
runs from then until the end of August 2005.
The photos still exhibit the beauty and
eroticism of classical artworks but also
represent the distortions of our current
history, according to the artist. He says
the sharp edged visual distortions mirror
the swirl of distortion we encounter daily:
the distortion of news broadcasts, the hallucinations
from lawmakers, even drug companies contortions.
The technique, involving moving the subject
and the camera expresses Action Over Time,
the artist’s progressing theme. Artist Brian
Miller has lived in Valencia and spent time
in Madrid. He now lives downtown Manhattan,
NY.
